Mine would go as following:

Scorpion
Noob Saibot(Bi Han)
Reptile
Sonya
Raiden
Shang Tsung
Kitana
Jade
Kano
Sub-Zero(Kuai Liang)
Smoke
shinnok

Yep, and now that you said that. I would welcome a MK game where features like controls and means like parry or breaker would be different from one another. And particular chars would have something more than others:

-Nightwolf turns into a wolf as a special move for instance.
-Motaro is already really different as long as he doesn't come back to his MKA stuff but animallike characters: Baraka, Reptile, Nitara, Motaro could make use of this during fights. Some should have a stance and be able to switch during the course of the fights.
-Sektor already throws missiles ( it wouldn't make sense for Cage to do.) Depending on who is introduced next, more singularities for chars would be welcome.

Well, i care about Stryker. Even though is one that i think i'm not against having a break for a couple games. I realized i liked him in MKA. More than 60 chars and i tried him 2 or 3 times!!

Meat? Well, nothing important but as a joke character maybe.

Mokap? Never again. But that's only me.

Hsu Hao? Sad, i won't miss him if he ain't introduced in the next games but i think they could still do a good job on him.

You really don't have a prob without them or you are kidding?

Well, from MK4, Jarek wouldn't be a big loss unless he's revamped. Like Kai. But i kind of like Reiko and love the others.

with the exception of the recently dead, 29 chars are still alive:

Meh, i care more or less about him so if i saw him in the roster it wouldn't be the end of the world. And also because i said he would require a lot of redoing.

... I'm not a fan of the ninjas. I don't really see the point in having them as apart of the story. I've always believed that Mortal Kombat was about Liu Kang, above anyone else.
