What is difference between destiny and luck?

Is there is any difference between destiny and luck?

Well, when someone tells you that your "Destiny" is to (Insert whatever you want here), means in my opinion-That Destiny is something that will happen or that you will do but was already bound to happen. It's like saying "You can't control everything, at least not your destiny." But some people think that we are all in control of our own destiny. Whatever the word sets for, i'm not dead set on my own beliefs about how destiny can be twisted or not.

Luck is different in a way that when someone's lucky it was not always meant to be from the start. Destiny is something that follows you and/or that you're bound to follow, when luck tends to happen when you don't expect it.

But i do believe that it's hard to predict your own future so destiny must need a bit of luck to bring where you need to be.;)

Both these words FATE and LUCK are used for past, present as well as for future. I am giving you the example of the usage of both these words, which are basically the synonyms of FATE. “Luck” is generally used as a matter of chance. For example, if a person wins in a lottery, he is considered to be lucky. If the captain of the cricket team wins the toss, he may be considered lucky. Losing toss is never considered lucky. On the other side Destiny is another excuse to remain stuck, to do nothing, or place the responsibilities on another person, a god or deity, (outside one’s own self or control) and when events do bring two people together, the first thing one does is toss this destiny out and expect yet another event which usually never comes again or only happens for the wealthy. God’s destined event becomes a mere speck forgotten in the past, nothing more. The definition which is presented by Jonnyrp is also very accurate in this regard that Destiny is something that will happen or that you will do but was already bound to happen. Fate is what happens because of your actions. Luck is what happens regardless of your actions.

Like, ya know, no matter what action you take, you can't control the coin toss or the dice roll. That's luck. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad.

Now Fate.....fate is........imagine you are in a room and there is two pieces of paper. One scribbled on and face down, and the other one blank. The one scribbled on is your "fate", your future. And you are to scribble randomly on the other blank piece of paper, that is your "action". Now no matter what you do and what you write,draw or scribble on the blank paper, when you are done and put down your pen and turn over the other face down paper and look at it. It will have the same exact writing or scribbling you've done on the blank paper.


And no, you may not turn over and look at the second piece of paper prior to finishing scribbling over the first one, that would require you to have the super power of seeing into the future.

Some anime characters say something about destiny. Like Neji from Naruto.

Other quotes for lucks are not from anime:

Destiny is to bound to see what happens in the future, Luck is a possibility or a chance to see what happens.

Great question, they are kinda the same.

I guess the difference is luck can be both good and bad, while destiny is just that, a destination.
