With a nice theatrical introduction to the storyline itself, Oblivion's story mode is not as long as the pre-existing game to the series, Morrowind, Oblivion still adds action packed, interactive features, npc's and hundreds of quest to choose from. There are so many quests that players can only obtain some from rumours or eavsdropping on other npc's converstation. There are several races to choose from, such as wood elf, dark elf, Nord, Oogerl, Imperial, etc. Each race has it's own special abilities. Some are resistant to disease, can breath under water, while others can persuade others into liking them. There are also guilds you can get into, such as the thieves guild, the dark brotherhood (where you kill for contracts), mages guild, and even the fighters guild. All these guilds offer advancement to the highest level, but the missions in most of these do prove to be a challenge. Also, players may choose which sign they wish to be born under. For example, those born under the shadow may make themselves invisible for 30 seconds but only once a day. If you have this for PC, you may do this as many times as you wish if you know the cheat =)
Oblivion for pc also offers easy cheats but the xbox 360 version has more pristine graphics. One can even become a vampire, and cure it if they so choose to. There are very few limits to this game. Same save slots are one of the downers to this game as you can accidentally delet old files, and there is only one auto save so those with seperate files but be careful how they save. Of course there is an option to save the game yourself, without going in and out of places with doors. There is so much to do in Oblivion players could literally spend hours just completing the main storyline alone, along with other side quests as well. An expansion pack allows additional quests, such as nights of the nine, but with so many optional quests to choose from, it's difficult to be bored by them in one game without the expansion pack. Having this game for PC also comes with its glitches. Fortunately, there are cheats to force some missions to become "completed" If there is a bug in them. This has only happened to me twice but these glitches are not often, and the game quality is very good, and some of these cheats can make the game entertaining, even when you don't imput them yourself. That is also the fun part about this game: random things that shouldn't happen, such as other NPC's being attacked, or attacking each other, make it entertaining to watch. Even for PC, the rain is very realistic and players can freely swim through water with limited breath, unless they have a ring, enchantment, potion or necklace for buyouncy to breath underwater.
The only big annoying thing about this game I find is that you have to close so many oblivion gates. Well you don't have to, but they certainly pop up left right and center after saving Kvatch. However, there are sigil stones to be kept when you do which can enchant your abilities. The best qualities of the game is the large map and hundreds of places to find and explore, some with great treasures to be found, and the camera angles cna be viewed both in first person and in third as well. For the xbox 360, the more you kill a npc with your blade, the redder it becomes. This is a feature that lacks in the npc but the effects are nice with the minimal blood splatter for effects. Also, as this game has been released for quite some time now, those interested in purchasing it can find it at a cheap, reasonable price, depending where you look. The other series to this franchise are also out as an affordable price as well for those wishing to try other storylines to the franchise.
