Yes. And I won't be surprised if Shao Kahn is resurrected in MK10.

Killer Instinct had.
Orchid, Jago, T.J. Combo, Spinal, Cinder, Thunder, Fulgore, Glacius, Riptor, Sabrewulf and the boss Eyedol.

Killer Instinct 2/Gold had.
Orchid, Jago, T.J. Combo, Spinal, Fulgore, Glacius and Sabrewulf.
new characters were Kim Wu, Maya, Tusk and the boss Gargos.

while i was reading Jago on wikipedia apparently Jago and Orchid are brother and sister they were orphaned and separated at birth. Jago is a Tibetan monk following the Tiger Spirit which becomes Gargos in KI2/G.

Nice to see some credit given to Sheeva, Nightwolf and Kabal (Even though he's quickly become a one dimensional character. With no more surprises.)

The bosses? Meh, Unless Shinnok. He might bring some new stuff to the table but Kahn should be out for a couple games, if not for good. Still it's a good point that his popularity, even as a playable char kind of bounds him to come back.

@Kombatant_Mark_Anthony Yeah, i already knew that Orchid and Jago were brother and sister. Goes back to my first read of a KI comic book years ago. I played KI Gold a little but do you mean Jago turned into Gargos?? That i didn't know.

Jago followed the Tiger Spirit, on a path to enlightenment to defeat the evil within himself, he believes it is his destiny to destroy Ultratech. In the first tournament he was possessed by the Tiger Spirit, soon he was betrayed by the latter which turned out to be the demon Gargos in disguise. Gargos used Jago to gain entrance to the physical world. Jago seeks revenge for Gargos manipulation.
Gargos and Eyedol are rivals.
