Why should they end any video game series
I have heard on a number of occasions that certain video games series will end. Speaking from a non profit standpoint, why should any video game series end if it brings entertainment to it's fan base? Other forms of entertainment have had longevity some for 50 to 100 or more years. Look at the Simpsons, they have spanned every possible medium there is (have they been on the radio?). Professional sports have gone on for decades and for the most part none of the core rules have changed in any of them and they are still love accross the globe. The same musical and theater acts. Why should anything have to end?

Well, either they went bankrupt by some reason, or someone complained a video game for violence and similar reasons, if you ask me.

Well we already consider the economics a given factor in any game. Can you tell me of any game that has been pushed out of production due to helicopter parents complaining about it? I can't think of one.

lack of money is one thing I guess, though it doesn't have to be to the point of bankruptcy.
due to the high technology now, games these days tend to cost more than they used to, but along with that, making games also costs more than it used to be as well, and is now even harder due to the attention needed for everything to be 10 fold as much, graphics and gameplay, while trying to avoid storyline drop(or even increase that as well if they can). not to mention size, now that games are a lot bigger during these times, there almost 100x as much potential as there used to be for those games, but along with that, it's just as many times as hard to take full advantage of said potential, I guess that could be the reason why most games on the ps3 are also on the xbox 360, becouse most guys who finish the game end up not needing to pass the dvd size limit. ummm..............tl:dr, these days it's harder to make games both effortly and financially.
