Anything from looks, gameplay, stages?

First i would remove the rooftop stage and bring back MK3's rooftop. I would have added the portal stage. And some stages are just filled with way too many monsters and stuff in the backgrounds. It doesn't matter how cool they look, it just felt to me like they tried to make me eat a burger but put too much in it.

The blood effects involving that the character sort of completly disappeared under his/her own blood, i didn't like. And that's about what i would remove in terms of look.

Maybe the future games will have some of them but i would have added a couple MKDA stages. Most of them were just Outstanding achievments.

Wow...Well, personally, there would be A LOT of things I would have added/taken away from MK9. In fact, if I had my say in the making of the game, it would have been very different from what we got.

For one thing, being a fan of MK's overall mythology, the quasi-reboot time-traveling storyline would have been removed. In its place, I would have either had continued off of Armageddon with mostly new characters OR I would have done a real reboot.

The story mode would likely retain the chapter format, but it wouldn't be one character per chapter. Instead, each chapter would cover certain parts of the story, and you get to play as different characters.

I would have had the prize for completing the Challenge Tower be something other (and better) than Mileena's Flesh Pit costume.

In terms of the gameplay, I would have had multiple ladders that you can rotate like in MK4 and MKG. I would have D + 1 (down + lead punch) hit low or special mid (mid attacks that can be stand blocked and crouch blocked) like in the Tekken games. I would have added more normal moves to the characters' movelist.

When it comes to defense, I would have the characters be able to move around while blocking, but I would add an energy meter like the one in MK: Shaolin Monks to prevent blocking from being abused. Although I like the X-Ray moves in general, I may have had them replaced with a character-specific ability similar to the Dark Force from the Darkstalkers series.

I would have taken out Cyber Sub-Zero and have Kenshi in his place.

I would have changed a lot of the costume designs, especially for the female characters.

That mostly covers my thoughts. If more comes to mind, I'll post it later.

I have favourites chars but i think any MK character would have been welcome instead of Freddy or Kratos, even Mokap i'll say. Not a fan of Cyber Sub either.

The whole returning to MK1 after the opening movie was kind of disappointing, made me think that the troubles for the good guys only started growing when Liu died in MKDA. So, with all the good guys that died when i know everyone was happy after MK4? Raiden should have started right back before MKDA's opening instead.

Going to the story mode, the chapter formula wasn't bad, still as i said before i can't play a game from the beginning of story mode to the end when they force chars for me to use each chapter so that's a big fail, just to know that in the end most of the chars you've been using get killed off? I also wonder why Scorpion and Cyrax seemed to be the only evil guys that we were forced to use.:P No, i don't really wonder.

There are also things worth removing in terms of gameplay, but if they intend to come back to that 2d formula, at least i wish they'll find a way for the players to counter moves like spear and other projectiles with more than old block or jump. Like providing us with a chance to dash on the side and then run to kick their ass.

Something like choose your destiny should really come back in future games. Along with a funnier challenge than Shao Kahn or any other cheap char as a boss. Some might think i mean an easier boss but that's way different. I mean a character that would end up as fun to battle. Shang Tsung, Shinnok and Quan Chi have always been better as boss imo. Kahn bores me the moment the fight starts.

Jump kick to start a combo? Old school fighting Hell Yeah! Why Daegon in particular MKR? On the other end, i dunno if this has anything to do with the topic since i didn't care about Shujinko not being added but wasn't he seen or mentioned somewhere in MK9 story?

In terms of characters i can't actually say i miss Kenshi since he was introduced. Didn't have the chance to try him as much as i wanted too. But i would surely have found a spot for Bo Rai Cho and Nitara Maybe Tanya but she could have waited and own her own spot later. Nitara? Still i heard Skarlett did a pretty decent job gameplaywise. My only concern with her was she was a Mileena/Nitara look a like in terms of background and still another foe of Quan Chi but with what reason?

For the rest i have no more idea what i would have added or removed to make it better.
