No one can stand one on one fight against Kahn but Liu. And a char from Vaeternus. If Kung Lao didn't die? Sad, he would die anyway. Too much potiential heroes in MK. And he sux.

 according to Story mode kung lao is no more but we see mortal kombat history we have to wait till next mk game |

The thing is kung lao dies regardless of the method. in the prime timeline he dies fighting the deadly alliance. so kung lao is doomed.
