Just wondering if anyone here plays or has played Def Jam fighting games?
I only play the 2 first ones: Def Jam Vendetta and Fight for New York. I guess they are available for PC too but i'm not sure. |

Cool! I will try and be on twitter more often when i log on here.
Def Jam 1 and 2 are basically fighting games where characters are real celebrities from hip hop music. The first game is only wrestling on rings mostly but the second one has interesting fights. AS you train in number 2 you can chose between 5 fighting styles: Martial arts, Kickboxing, Submission, Wrestling and Street fighting. You can end up with three fighting styles for your created char (You will have to create one to make the story mode.) You will also have to train to increase speed, power, upper and lower body endurance and power to make sure you can defeat the next fighters on the map. You fight in many areas in Def Jam 2. Bars, Fighting clubs, Streets etc. Weapons can be used for instance in bars are bottles or brooms. When an opponent life bar is red and in danger, being hit by a weapon will cause the knock out. Some fighting styles have knock out moves and you also have a special move that you can perform once your special bar is filled. The special moves cause big damage of course and knock out an opponent in danger. You can also use the crowd to your advantage when you throw your opponent in their arms they will hold him/her and you have a free hit. Throwing them against a wall also provides you with a second to grab them again and throw them headfirst against the wall and knock them out. This is a part of Def Jam 2 fighting but there is more. Back when my friends were still playing fighting games, we would create our characters and make tag team matches against celebrities we didn't like. |

What was your favorite(s) fighting style(s)?
Assuming you had time to make your opinion of course. And which lady would you pick as your girlfriend? I always needed Kickboxing in my weapons and love Kimora but would go with Lil'Kim more often. |

Ok. I remember the story mode was kind of long and repetitive but what was fun about the fights was facing more powerful or faster opponents than your char and of course weapons and moves. Getting back up and grabbing a weapon could change the advantage of a match in a sec.
I once tried to do story with rarely training my power, speed and defense. It's really hard. Almost impossible at some point to win. |

Cool! I didn't like the third one much, ICON but haven't played it as much. There were also cool features in fight for NY like the shops. Changing clothes, tatoo shop and jewelry i guess.
