The companies Q2 report highlights key performances by Batman: Arkham Knight and
Mortal Kombat X.
Gamesindustry is reporting the two titles have helped boost revenues at the publisher, with the company stating "they helped make it the top videogame publisher for the first half of the year" in its Q2 financial statement.
Locally Warner Bros. have dominated the IGEA Australian charts this year with twelve number ones in the first thirty weeks, eight of which went to Arkham Knight and
Mortal Kombat X.
Warner Bros. have reported a 135% year-on-year increase, with games responsible for $727-million of the companies $3.3-billion result. This in itself was 15% up on the same period last year.
Operating income for Warner was up by 46% from last year, totalling $344-million.
No further information was given in regards to the companies game portfolio, including the successful release of LEGO: Jurassic World. Within the statement the company said, "The increase in videogames revenues was primarily due to the releases of Batman: Arkham Knight and Mortal Kombat X."
In addition to their own IP, Warner Bros. handled the U.S. publishing and distribution for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt within the period.
