The sequel to 2011’s highly successful fighting game franchise reboot Mortal Kombat, has been spotted on an Italian gaming site
games.it. The online website reports a listing for
“Mortal Kombat 10” via an online retailer from Australia. The online store has since pulled the game from its pre-order listing. However, they were able to give a specific date of release, which is set for November 22 of this year. It also includes platforms on which it will be released on, these include: Playstation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, and PSVita. It is not unusual for game stores and online game websites to have a future placeholder for anticipated title. This is very exciting news for fans who have waited for NetherRealm Studios to officially announce their next project, whom some have speculated to be the next Mortal Kombat. Further evidence was provided by a recent interview with
Kiefer Sutherland conducted by Ign last month. In that interview, Kiefer mentioned that doing Mortal Kombat and that it was a significant project, however his role in the development of the new game is still unknown.
Update According to Oz Games Shop (@ozgameshop) have denied the rumor, telling Mortal Kombat Online (via Twitter):
