I have a bit of a hard time with Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and sometimes Smoke. Shang Tsung is especially annoying with his soul steal.

Agree with everyone posting Shang Tsung. But i think Reptile has been the worst ye to me. I also hated Jax the first time i played MK9, with his air grab he kind of made it clear that i shouldn't abuse the jump. LOL!
And i can't forget about Kahn, he was just cheaper than he ever was. |

Yes, Kahn was not that hard. But kind of boring really. Same goes for Reptile. I hated to fight them since they ended up being the cheapest and best spammers from what i remember. Shao Kahn was harder to beat in MK2 and 3. But it was still really boring to fight a guy like that in MK9. His health seemed to go down really slowly during combos.
In storymode it's official that one should be able to defeat Shao Kahn easily with Raiden's abilities but he's still the same boss he ever was. If you don't play as cheap as he does he might gets on your nerves. I heard ppl complaining about the fact that they get beat by Kahn at home so bad. He's just not an interesting challenge like they used to offer us with Shang Tsung or during the 3d era imo. Shang Tsung was among the hardest, but still a cool fight most of the time. if you compare shao kahn with shangtsung i must say Shantsgung is harder then Shao kahn cause after he morphs he gets double damage whereas Shao kahn is fast.
