Which MK show did you like better?
I liked both for different reasons, but I have to admit neither were exactly brain food that's for sure.
So I'll break it down: DOTR: Likes: The major strength of the cartoon in my opinion were the character interactions. They really explored that aspect as well as how constant fighting impacts the characters. I also enjoyed some of the later episodes, as their plots got a tad more complex for an American cartoon. Dislikes: The fight scenes were so... dull? They all looked like semi-interested robots sparring when they were supposed to be fighting for their lives. This coupled with the complete lack of detail (especailly evident when it was aired back to back with the Street Fighter cartoon on USA) in the art you can tell barely any money was put into the cartoon. MKC: Likes: Now the fights in this one were really good, granted not all of the actors were the ones doing the fighting, but the people they got knew what they were doing (despite all the jumping around) and as a martial artist myself (although I suck) it was nice to see that kind of effort. Also like DOTR, it started off horrid, but it was getting pretty good there at the end with the scripts. Dislikes: Let's face it, they may have gotten decent fighters, but the actors (with the exception of a few - like our beloved Jeff Meek) the chose were... questionable in their trade. The only reason most of the female "actors" were on there was not for their acting talent, more for how little they wore. Which kept the guys coming back, but I wish there had been some fair play for us female fans. Other than that, the one thing that pisses me off is the fact they never put it on DVD for sale in the States. I have a few of the episodes on VCD, but I want them on DVD... oh well... Basically as I see it, both has some real potential near the end, but both were cut short before they could have developed into bigger and better things. Pity that. I did learn from them though, like in DOTR, never bet on what's going to happen in an episode with your younger brother. I lost $5 doing that... =~.^= |
