A poem I found in a book called the working dog.
Ok so I just decided to randomley post this poem I found in a big dog book we have at home. If not already obvious I'm a big dog lover but this poem is to the dogs on the police force and is dedicated to the ones that lost their lives on duty. It also can apply to family dogs as well, as they play the same role at home with their families and the ones they care about. A very touching poem, although the author is unkown. Hope you enjoy reading it =)
My eyes are your eyes, to watch and protect yours. My ears are your ears, to hear and detect evil minds in the dark. My nose is your nose, to scent the invader of your domain. And so you may live, my life is also yours.

I really enjoyed reading this poem. And you're right on everything that was written as dogs senses are more intune than ours. My brother owns a black lab and my two other brothers and I sometimes look after her.:)

Well I'm not a biggie on poems either, but I really liked this one. Heh small dogs can be nice too. When they sleep on the bed, they don't take up half the space.

Yeah, thatīs an advantage, and I have nothing against small dogs at all. :D
I could list more good sides about them really.

Lol yeah. My dog was head strong and stubborn. Couldn't get anyone to get him to heal. He also used to take up the bed..so if you moved, he'd take up that leg space. What kind of dog do you have?

Lol alright. Mine was a brittany spaniel, although he didn't look it. But here's a picture of him anyway. This is our dog, Bow, taken a year before he passed away. Although perhaps another thread would work for dog pictures.
