A new trailer from Spike Television's 2010 Video Game Awards shows the God of War is ready to send the fighters from Mortal Kombat down to the darkest depths of Hades.Kratos, the protagonist of the critically-acclaimed action series "God of War", will be featured as an exclusive character for the PlayStation 3 release of "Mortal Kombat".From the looks of things, it would seem likely the XBOX 360 version of "Mortal Kombat" will also get an exclusive character. No information has surfaced, but rumors and hearsay point to Marcus Fenix from the "Gears of War" series to be a likely candidate.Back in 2003, "Soul Calibur 2" featured exclusive characters across the three sixth-generation video game consoles: PlayStation 2, XBOX and Nintendo Gamecube.The upcoming "Mortal Kombat" game is returning to its bloody, two-dimensional fighting origins, following the previous game "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe". Along with the traditional fatalities and stage fatalities, the new game will feature "X-Ray" moves where players can see the vicious bodily injuries they inflict on adversaries. One example includes the character Sub-Zero freezing the liver of his opponent and then crushing it with his fist.It's not the first time Kratos has crossed over to other games. He was previously featured in "Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny", "Little Big Planet", "Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds" and "ModNation Racers". The God of War was also parodied in "The Simpsons Game".
