I only like Elektra in the choices but i like Milla Jovovich as a fighter. Mostly in the 5th element and RE1 and 2.
Other than that i like Gina Carrano (Actress and Mixed Martial arts fighter.) and there are other names but they don't come to mind. I'm more into the scary/crazy ladies from thrillers and horror films. |

Milla wasn't so bad in Ultraviolet. I just didn't like the film. As for Aeon Flux and Charlize Theron. You realize with films like that how Charlize is overrated when not covered in loads of make up to make her look like someone completely different (As for Halle Berry in Catwoman.)
That is just my 2 cents. Fighting chicks don't impress me as much as drama acting (Maybe the real fighters though.) Last edited by Jonnyrp; 08-20-2014 at 05:43 PM. |

I chose "Elektra", because I very like Jennifer Garner as Elektra in "Daredevil" and "Elektra" movies.
"UltraViolet" is good movie, but it didn't make "wow" to me. I like Milla better in "Resident Evil" movies.

You can go watch vids. Scott Adkins is one of my favourite male fighters and Kelly Hu, which i forgot to mention earlier fought him in a film once. She's female and that was a good fight. The difference isn't in the fact that they are male or female. It is in the fact that the movies you name are mostly stunts and acrobats (Way too often shot in slow motion to me). Hence why i prefer Gina Carano, as a real fighter and as a fighter in films. All of her fighting moves are possible if i can say. And she does them herself. You should watch her in HayWire. That is fighting. I know that Milla and Jennifer Garner would make good fighters. They train hard and all that. But their films stunts are often guided/performed by stunt coordinators and/or they use cables and green screen. The way they fight is the major difference. Taking RE for instance, which sums up my perception good, it is a Motorcycle through a church window on slow motion with big guns shooting lickers type of fighting you talk about. Hand to hand has very little to do in those films. I still see the fact that Milla does karate on Zombies as a weakness since rarely, not to say never will they reply with blocking, reverse moves or by lifting their legs. when a shot in the head or having their necks snapped is what's required where does martial arts become useful? I always liked the feeling of fear and distress that RE games provided better than that feeling of empowerment that the actions flicks brought to the series. i like Jet Li movies, Jackie Chan movies, Van Damme movies. i find that there's not a lot of females fighters aside from mixed genders like DOA, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat.

Many films are using actors that will learn a couple martial arts tactics in a given time, i.e: Bridgette in MK1. But as i said before Gina Carano, Ronda Rousey, Valérie Hénin are fighters. They just don't appear as the star of films they did. Well, Carano did and Rousey is a star of The New Expendables3 film so let's see. If we're talking of actresses, yes they are rare. I love Rhona Mitra though, along with Milla Jovovich and Jennifer Garner. |
