Questions and thoughts about PS2 MK games and more.

[Da Repp Resents]

Now that the world is going Lady GaGa over the impending 2D Mortal Kombat, I have a few questions about the earlier games. I am cool with the developers going oldschool and 2D on the upcoming 2011 title (happy birthday to me I get Mortal Kombat 9 in March :D). However, I am wondering what they could have done with the 3D titles that would have endeared more players. I liked and hated a lot of the things they did in the previous four titles but there was some things that they should have done or kept for each one.

MKDA is probably my pick of the lot. The things I loved and hated in that game were.

Music - From Konquest to the title screen to the fatality I don't think there was a single bad track on that game.

Backgounds - Shang's Palace was probably my favorite.

Characters Costumes - I loved Scorpions (but didn't care for Reptile's) Lei Mei and Nitara...... tasty.

Move sets - The side step swing was great so why did the get rid of it? If anything it should have been upgraded to finish a juggle combo.

MK Deception.

I liked the booby traps but didn't like the death traps.

Konquest challenges. To beat a certain character you had to fulfill a certain task that does not always mean depleating their energy bar. Love it great idea should have been left in for future games as you can go places with it.
Puzzle and Chess Kombat. Fun stuff.

The Krypts (no Bloods though, I mean come on) I liked that but they should have not put so much staff promoting content in it. I don't wanna see these mother fusses pictures. Put some real content in or at least add on some new features to the game I mean come on.

MK Armageddon

Kreate a Kharacter

All the ninjas and characters from MK1 to Trilogy. Nuff said

No Air moves in any of these games, the air combos in MKA are stupid and gay.

MK vs DC

Characters
Batman, Green Lantern, Joker, Catwoman, Superman, Shazam, Scorpion (don't like his spear or teleport animation) Sub-Zero, Kitana, Shang Tsung, Raiden.

No fatalities. Weaaaaaaaaakkkkkk.

So after this praising and damning of the past four installments what do you think will happen to the series after MK9 wins fighter of the year?

Do you think the MK team will

A. Make another 2D Mortal Kombat?

B. Make a 3D game that will fix the aformentioned problems with the game engine?

C. Make an absolute Piece o' Feece and tell us go fudge yaself?

D. Get drunk play MK games and kill one another when the realize how cheap the other guy plays?

I like what they are doing with the 2D game in some aspects but I think you can incorporate the aspects of each into a game that will be fun and challenging. The idea of tag team and tag team combo finishers is ****in brilliant. I am looking forward to having this game on my birthday.

Tell me what you think Midway will do with the next installment after this upcoming 2D MK game. No one can tell me that they don't want to get to MK X. What do you think?
