High Voltage is developing the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of
Mortal Kombat Xbut it has been a while since the game was released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, iOS, and Android, but the last generation versions of the game are nowhere to be seen.
Back in March 2015, just a month prior to the game’s release on the latest generation of consoles, it was revealed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game were being delayed to June 2015.
Now that we are only four days away from June 2015, retails like GameStop and Amazon are suggesting we might have to wait even more. Both the retailers previously had a June release date for Mortal Kombat X but all of a sudden they are listing December 31, 2015, in the release date column.
This is unexpected because such a date is usually put up as a placeholder for games that the developers are not willing to talk about just yet. MKX on the other hand was almost upon its release date for PlayStation 3 and Xbox One.
The only logical explanation right now could be that the retailers were not sure that High Voltage will be able to meet the release deadlines and so they acted preemptively and changed the release dates.
According to the official website of PlayStation where the game is still listed for a Spring 2015 release date. Technically this means between March 20 and May 31 2015.
