Liu kang has better special attacks like bicycle kick, flying kick, and more powerful attacks. Kung Lao has teleport, good air combos, and hat moves. It's sort of like saying which character that they were based on is better oddjob or bruce lee.

Liu Kang by far. Better story, moves, etc. He may be a Bruce Lee rip off, but He's still awesome. I love his Dragon Fatality :D.

Kung Lao is Absoluetly Better Because of his jumps And Kicks!! I Like his kick when he hits in Jumps.. I continue the combo And It hits !

Liu's moves are more complex, aren't they? While Lao's are simple. I still prefer him to Liu kang though.
