Post Moshe Becomes Champion in Mortal Kombat 9 Tournament

The following is a review of a recent Mortal Kombat tournament.

Moshe "JAGUGUARANG" Shevel from Highlands North Gauteng, Won the Mortal Kombat 9 Tournament hosted by MainGaming,AWX,Get hype and NU Metro.

The Tournament was held at the Bright Water Commons in Randburg on Youth Day June 16th, At around 9am registrations opened, each of the 75 players was given a unique Mortal Kombat badge with a number on it. A random draw was done around 11am, Double elimination was the format of the tournament thus giving players 2 chances should they lose any of their games.

Things started heating up fast with some practice games, All attention was on 'Draeka' who came all the way from Durban to 'test his strength'. One of the highlights of the practice games was tournament favourite 'Draeka' taking on the eventual tournament winner Moshe,
Draeka chose Ermac while Moshe chose Sheeva as his character, Draeka annihilated Moshe, Draeka eventually got knocked out in the last 16 by Zaheed Jaffer who went on to face Moshe in the finals.

During the tournament Moshe was asked why did he choose Sheeva instead of his normal character (Ermac) against Draeka? Moshe replied "it was a tactic, guys must think that i'm a walkover and i'll catch them by surprise"!! That tactic clearly worked as Moshe was unstoppable!! Moshe 'Kombated' all in his path losing not a single game.

WINNERS FINAL Moshe Shevel VS Lungile Jacobs
Moshe's Ermac took on Lungile's Smoke, Lungile won the first round in style but thats where it ended as Moshe quickly fought back with some quick combos to book himself into the Grand Final. Lungile went on to beat Abbas 'TekkenGuru' to claim 3rd prize

GRAND FINAL - Zaheer "DarksideX" Jaffer (Kung Lao) VS Moshe "JAGUGUARANG" Shevel (Ermac)

The final was rather one sided, Moshe was in control almost toying with Zaheer, Zaheer fought hard and pulled a combo which resulted in 52% damage to Moshe, Moshe immediately responded with a 58% damage combo that sent the crowd wild. Zaheer kept attacking but made too many mistakes as Moshe won 6 straight rounds.

Here's what Moshe had to say: "The tournament day was great, I arrived early to see people getting in some casual games to practise getting their fingers and characters ready for the day ahead. Throughout the day I met some incredible people and also got a chance to meet some new faces and the regular competitors too, was especially great to meet Draeka too. Throughout the day I played some particularly easy games and some really tough games, one game that stood out during the day was a semi-fight against a Scorpion user who utterly blew my mind with his style of play! The reason it was a semi-fight was because we were not meant to play each other and we were quickly stopped in the middle of our match to be placed against our actual opponents, looking forward to having a real match against him very soon"

Moshe walks away with a 40inch Sony Bravia LCD TV and is invited to a VIP party to be held by NU Metro on the 24th June
