My Review on MK Armageddon for the Wii.

A couple of days ago, I got a Nintendo Wii. One of the first games I got, was Mortal Kombat Armageddon. Here is my lame "review."

When I started the game, and went to the menu, I was greeted by a nice Cyrax/Sektor picture. It looks quite good on a 54-inch tv. The other new menu pictures are not that bad.

The Wii Remote Training mode is probably the most helpful mode there. It shows you how to do each super move with a fighter of your choosing, minus your clown(KAK).

There is a Wii Remote Video in the Arcade menu. I still don't get it.
Arcade is about the same. I did notice that the arcade ladder is more randomized. I used Kitana on 2 different occasions. I never got the same Arcade ladder.

Khameleon is there. No big deal. She's not the best. She's not the worse. I did notice that if you use Khameleon against Khameleon, it's hard to tell who is who. You start off the same color, and you change colors at the same time. If you do a move, you'll change color. I also noticed something else. Khameleon's skin is transparent, not the clothes...or so I thought. If you look at Khameleon's chest(where I'm sure most of you are looking at anyways), you can see her vest and the color changes. If you move behind her, and look at her back, you can not see the vest, but you can see the arena in front of her.

Endurance mode is probably the most fun thing on the game. I only got up to 7 people because the Wii Remote and Nunchuk is kind of hard to use. You "rejuvenate" every 3 fighters.

Versus.

Practice.

The controls are a bit tricky. You have to be really precise with them, or you'll get another move, or no move at all. The attack buttons are mapped to the + on the Wii Remote. No big deal. Though, on the PS2/X-Box version of the game, the block button is on the right side of the controller. For the Wii, the block button is on the Nunchuk. You'll have to get used to that. Laying down, believe it or not, helps at times. Just press forward, then block. I still haven't learned how to stomp on my opponent like they do. I'll get it. I did notice that the "air cancel" moves are still there. I tried it with Kitana, and it worked. I did a 66-hit combo.

Fatalities. Ouch, hard to do using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. I don't use a list, I just improvise. You hold the B button, do your motion, release B, and repeat.

Konquest. Same thing. You can use the Wii Remote motions to do Taven's moves, or you can press the C button on the Nunchuk, and press a direction button on the Wii Remote(you know, the +).

Motor Kombat. Using the Wii Remote to steer is kind of tricky. I'm used to steering with a wheel that is mounted down(think Crusin' USA). With the Wii Remote, the steering "wheel" is "floating." You still have your control. It's not bad. Nothing new.

Extras. Kredits and a Rampage video. Apparently, Midway is making(or already made) Rampage for the Wii.

Overall, I enjoyed the game. I give it an 8 out 10. Not bad.

Syncopations.

UPDATE

I learned how to stomp on my opponents when they decide to lay down. You have to be within sweep range or closer. Just press UP and the throw button. Your character will stomp on his/her opponent.

I noticed that the computer has the ability to cancel a jump. When they are in mid-air(like doing a backflip), they can instantly land without going through the animation. It's like a skipped frame.

If you fight in the Tekunin Warship, before the match starts, as the camera is moving towards the fighters, a frame is skipped right before the camera stops moving.

Hey someone made a reveiw for MKA for the Wii, I've been to lazy to do so. Also a bit of advice, for the fatalities you don't have to use the motions, you can simply use the analog stick and then the attack buttons like you would on any other console. I do that cuz it's more simple, but when I mess around I use the difficult motions.

That is true. But when I use the Wii controller set, I would rather use the moves and motions for it. If I decide I can't handle the controller set, I'll change to the Classic Controller on the next match.

So far, Raiden is the easiest to use on the Wii controller set. And Khameleon still isn't that good...even though she is now in my arsenal.

I agree that Khameleon isn't all that was expected from her. I also find it really easy to use Cage, and Kobra.
