Epic Games ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), the creators of the Unreal Engine 3 which Mortal Kombat series creator Ed Boon has stated the next game in the series will make use of, has add the tentatively titled "Mortal Kombat 8" to their upcoming games listing. According to this information, the game is being developed for Sony's Playstation 3 console as well as Microsoft's Xbox 360. However, the site also says the game is in development for the PC, a platform which the Mortal Kombat series has been absent from for a number of years. Many fans have requested a PC version of previous games to no avail, but it seems possible Midway may finally deliver.
It is important to keep in mind that while the site is owned by Epic Games, nothing is confirmed at this time. Midway officially has no comment on this matter at this time.
