text GameSpot Reviews MK: Armageddon For Wii!
Jun 05, 2007 - 10:46 AM - by MKRayden
Another major gaming website has presented their review of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for the Nintendo Wii! This time, the review comes from the well known Gamespot. Like the previous reviews, Gamespot is disapproving of the gameplay programming on the Wii remote, citing low accuracy and timing when using the remote. The additions added to the Wii version of the game are only mentioned in passing and did not factor into the final score. Surprisingly, MK: Armageddon for the Wii scored a 7.5; while that is about the same as other sites have scored the game, it's a slight improvement from then low end 7.0 Gamespot gave the game back in October 2006. This may have a lot to do with the use of different reviewers.

text Game Informer Reviews MK: Armageddon For Wii!
Jun 03, 2007 - 5:43 PM - by MKRayden
Gaming magazine Game Informer has posted a review of for Mortal Kombat: Armageddon on the Wii console! GI states similar problems as other review sites have; the Wii remote seems to be unresponsive at times and using the Wii remote's d-pad to fight seems uncomfortable and awkward. The review is rather short, alluding to the fact that the game is unchanged other than the revised controller scheme, which hurts the game more than it helps. Game Informer awards MK: Armageddon for the Wii with a 7.5. A second opinion from another GI Staff member lowers the score further to 7.25; citing that the series itself requires an overhaul to return it to glory. Both scores are a drop from the 8.25 the site awarded to the PS2/XBox versions of this game.

May 26, 2007 - 1:27 PM - by MKRayden
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for the Nintendo Wii coming next week, it's coming close to time for the first reviews of the game to appear. Today, IGN posted what we believe to be the first review of MK: Armageddon for the Wii! The two-page review spends equal time discussing aspects of the game that is common to both the Wii version and the previous version released for Playstation 2 and Xbox. However, they do go into detail about the differences seen in the Wii version. For example, they do describe how they found the Wii remote/nunchuk-based control system to work with the game; overall they found it worked well, with a couple of downsides. From the review:

In the end, IGN gave MK Armageddon for the Wii a score of 7.8, stating that the only reason it scored... [Read More]

May 20, 2007 - 1:25 PM - by MKRayden
Game Informer has released the first in a coming series of gaming articles titled "Beyond The Bits" that are designed to focus on some "unsung facets" involving video game creation. The first comes in the form of AI, artificial intelligence. This four page article featuring a number of respectable programmers from the gaming industry from a number of different genres, including Mortal Kombat's Ed Boon. Boon comments on the history of AI in the arcades as well as the current and future plans for Mortal Kombat's AI. Also included are smaller individual sections featuring most all video game genres.

Artificial Intelligence, or A.I., is one of the most important yet least understood aspects of modern game development. Depending on the type of game, developers may have entirely different goals when it comes to telling the computer how to
