A crazy Mortal Kombat top eight bracket that saw Fnatic’s Perfect Legend bow out at fifth place recently concluded at Evo 2013. Tons of great matches were played out on the fighting game community’s biggest stage, and now we finally have a champion for this year’s event.
In grand finals, Crazy DJT 88 came in from the winners as the crowd favorite against REO. His Cyrax took care of Perfect Legend’s Kabal earlier in the bracket, and started out strong against that of REO, taking the first game. REO, refusing to go down, answered back in the second game to tie things up. The two had quite a bit of back in forth in the third, but DJT gained the upper hand to take his second game, putting the score at 2-1.
On the brink of elimination, REO just survived to take another game and even the score at 2-2. On the critical fifth game of the first set, DJT secured another victory, and REO was again threatened with elimination. While just claiming the second round to stay alive, he was unable to escape the Cyrax pressure, and Crazy DJT 88 claimed the Evo 2013 title, the second and perhaps last player to do so.
